What Our Customers are Saying
Dr. Christopher DeMille, DeMille MacKay Dental
I am recommending Lindsay Salazar as a professional dental advisor and insurance coordinator. Lindsay worked for our office for over four years and assembled a team to help take care of all our dental insurance claims and billing. She was able to train many of our staff to be more efficient at their jobs and also helped us establish job descriptions for all positions in our office. Lindsay was able to increase our insurance collections and streamline our processes for getting insurance breakdowns and collecting from insurance companies and patients. She is very professional and communicates well with staff and Drs. I fully recommend her for your office needs.
Dr. David McKay, DeMille MacKay Dental
I highly recommend Lindsay Salazaar as a candidate for employment. Lindsay had been working with our dental office for the last five years. She overlooked running the offices and managing our office managers. She also played a big role in the financial side of our business in processing and fixing dental claims. Lindsay was very responsible and prompt in fulfilling her job responsibilities not to mention very approachable. Her friendly upbeat attitude was very refreshing. She is non combative and is always a team player. Lindsay has excellent communication skills too. She is extremely organized, reliable and can work independently to fix complex problems that most people can't. She is flexible and willing to work on any issues that we assigned her. She also had many ideas and procedures that has made our offices so successful. We recently moved into our dream office thanks to the efforts of Lindsay and her team. Lindsay would be a tremendous asset for any type of company and she has my highest recommendation. If you have further questions with regard to her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to call me.
Dr. Jaren JensenSmile, Reef Pediatric Dentistry
I started my practice in 2010. During the first six years, I grew a busy practice with a good reputation in the community. On the clinical side, we were a complete success. The business side was, however, the complete opposite. Our collections rate was only 83% during that time, and since I didn’t know any difference, I thought it was completely normal. When I decided to start another practice on the other side of town, I divided my staff and hired more. Our expenses doubled, and our collections rate dropped even further. We were on the verge of going out of business. I was about to throw in the towel and work for someone else when I met Lindsay Salazar. She has ultimately saved my practice and simultaneously lowered my blood pressure. Over the next six months, she was able to retrain my front staff and helped us figure out all the things we were doing wrong. I realized I was trained in dental school to be a successful dentist, but I didn’t know the first thing about running the front office. Our collections rate went to 103%, and even though it makes me sick to think of all the money we lost, I am so thankful for Lindsay and all she has done for my practice. Because of Lindsay, I now make more money than I ever have, and I enjoy doing dentistry more than ever before.

I have had the pleasure of working with Lois since 2009. At that time, I was contemplating selling my practice and potentially leaving Dentistry or at least abandoning my own type of Dentistry regardless of how much I wanted to help my patients. If I may use an analogy: for those of us who love Dentistry, it is like practicing an art form. The dental office/practice is our instrument or our canvas. The staff are extensions of our own hands. The patients are those we serve our art to. If all those do not work in harmony, then the artist is relegated to a prison cell and to a frustrated life of silenced servitude. Before I talked to Lois, I was reluctant to "hire" one more consultant ... because I believed that every consultant simply peddles their one or two "silver bullets", fits me into a cookie cutter, and then leaves me to figure out how to make it all work with the rest of my systems... I first learned of Banta Consulting when I attended Lois' class at the ADA Convention in Las Vegas. I remember taking so many notes, that I literally ran out of paper! She was an excellent speaker, and she gave so many practical suggestions that I didn't want to miss a single one. We came back from Las Vegas and I reviewed my notes and tried out a few of Lois' ideas. Guess what—they worked!
Several months later, our doctor decided that our practice could benefit from a full consulting program. I contacted Lois and we set a date for an onsite visit. By way of background, our pediatric dental office opened in August of 2006 with 1 doctor and 3 employees. In January 2012 we moved into a new facility, and added a 2nd full time dentist. Our staff has now grown to 18 and 2012 has been a year of tremendous transition for us. We are so thankful Lois was with us every step of the way! Read more

I have worked with Lois Banta Consulting for over two years. I had seen Lois at two of her speaking engagements and liked her energy and the commitment to quality dentistry. Having purchased an existing practice just 10 months prior, I faced several challenges. The office did not have good documented systems in place, some of my team members were resistant to changing from a patch and fill dental practice to one that provides complete and comprehensive care, and I was challenged to find the right resources outside the practice to help guide me.
Lois helped provide us with a set of protocols for different situations. One example of this is reactivating patients who have been away from the practice for a while. With help from Lois, and using the DiSC system, I have been able to identify those team members that needed to be replaced and I now have a great team on board, committed to complete and comprehensive dentistry and to provide our patients with the quality treatment they deserve. Finally, Lois has helped by having immense connections in the dental field. Whether it is conducting an internal OSHA audit or using technology to communicate with our patients, Lois has helped us tap into those resources and run a more efficient dental practice. Read more

When Lois Banta, Banta Consulting, came into my suburban Atlanta, Georgia area practice we were experiencing a cash flow problem. Many insurance companies were slow to pay and many patients owed balances that our business office had allowed to drift into perpetual payment arrangements.
Lois quickly interviewed the business office team to learn who was on board to learn strategies and tactics for smoother and more effective collection protocols and procedures. Not all were excited about changes to the habits they had shared for over a decade but once this business team learned effective methods for handling the problems that inevitably arise during the dental office day and tried out Lois's suggested scripts for talking with both insurance companies and patients the turnaround was astounding. They were no longer people working in the same space together...they were becoming a team encouraging one another to keep going. At that moment in time Lois's concept of "getting the money off the books and into the bank" was tailor made for our office. Read more

How wonderful and refreshing to have Lois Banta as our consultant! Kay heard Lois speak at the Carestream Dental User's meetings in Atlanta, GA and was impressed with her ideas and enthusiasm. At the meeting in 2011, she spoke with Lois about possible needs for our office. Teresa Anderson had been our dental consultant for about 15 years until her passing in 2009. Teresa helped develop most of our present systems and scheduling techniques which allowed for a more productive office, so we understand the benefits of a good dental consultant.
Lois visited in February 2012 to assess the office and potential areas of concern. She acknowledged that our systems needed no further attention. We appreciated that Lois did not try to re-invent the wheel. However, communication problems among staff, scripting and verbiage when speaking with patients, and fees needed immediate attention.
